Why We Never Kissed During The Day
How
weightless our heavy bodies become
In the
darkness
When we
see each other just barely
Shapeless
to the point that we become
Silhouettes
that could belong to anyone really
Stripped
of guilt and blame
And
rememberance
We hide in
the corners of the night
So well
that in the morning we can't even find us
In the
darkness your ego fades away like my pride
They
become nothing more than words we don't exchange
Daytime is
for those who can afford to be seen
Not just
by others but themselves
For us
Daytime is
when we'll drink crappy coffee together and talk about politics in the shop
with purple walls and uncomfortable seating
While you
lean into one of two possible laps
You'll
tell me this is not the city for you
I sunk
into the greyness of your eyes
And grey
our nights have become
Our nights
were not silky and sheer
They were
covered by the november fog and mid december snow
Hidden in
the fur of my leopard print coat
If we had
kissed at noon
The
whisper of your disinterest would have been a loud voice
Which I
had no desire of hearing
In the
unholy hours of our unity
We could
blame our joint lips on whiskey
Or
loneliness or poor sight
During the
day you were just a short man
With great
ambition
The light
would expose the selfishness you hid in your fingertips,
The
coldness in the strains of your golden hair
The
compassion lacking from your strong arms
The kind
of strenght I needed
Was not
the kind I found
I knew
better at noon
I knew
better when I was having lunch
Or doing
afternoon yoga
Or
drinking my morning tea
I knew
better while I listened to the footsteps of twilight
And then
poured myself into a cup of boiling mindless liquid
Served
myself to you
Never
before 10
I expected
to find bloody heart pieces in the morning
But the
night had already taken them away
